About this place
Start with a few skewers, then add a hot pot or noodles to round out the meal. Nikaiya’s listed menu includes a daily five-skewer chef’s-choice assortment and a three-kind assortment with two of each, making it easy to sample a few different options. Skewers are also available individually, including salted chicken thigh, salted pork belly and house-made tsukune with cartilage. Bacon-wrapped choices include quail egg, cherry tomato, cheese and spring onion, adding variety to the selection.
For an unhurried meal, hot pots such as beef curry nabe, yudofu and pork chiri nabe are also options. One diner who said they came for a hot pot to finish the meal found the portion just right. Alternatively, choose from yakisoba with egg and sauce, curry yakisoba or salt yakisoba. It works for a drink with grilled dishes and small plates, or for a meal centred on noodles or hot pot. Some diners mention enjoying a range of shochu by the shot; beer and wine are also available.
Dine-in only; payment is cash only.
